All members of Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS), representing 40,000 businesses in the emerging sector, remain united under the leadership of its President Sayem Sobhan Anvir, relevant sources have said.
On Tuesday, a group of businessmen illegally made a press invitation which had no connection with BAJUS – a uniform traditional trade body of the country.
“BAJUS has been running operations in its present office since January 25, 2022. An attempt has been made to spread confusion among its members by using an old office address,” reads a press release signed by BAJUS General Secretary Badal Chandra Roy.
The activities of BAJUS’s elected executive committee for the 2023-2025 term are going on, while a vested quarter involved in a deep conspiracy is trying to tarnish the image of the trade body, said the press release.
“I request you to keep a watchful eye on this matter,” added Roy.
The BAJUS leader urged all to contact the registered office of the trade body at Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in the capital for any information or verification, Daily Sun reports.
