The customers will be able to purchase soybean oil at Tk 163 a litre from tomorrow (Sunday), a Tk 10 down from the existing rate, banglanews24.com reported.
Commerce Minister Ahsanul Islam Titu has disclosed this information on Saturday apart from mentioning that the daily commodities market will be regulated even outside holy Ramadan.
He was speaking with journalists at an event organized by the 'Association of Grassroot Women Entrepreneurs Bangladesh' at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center.
The minister said, "Monitoring of edible oil has started from yesterday (Friday). All teams are engaged in monitoring at all mill gates since Saturday morning. Letters have already been sent regarding how much goods they have imported after reducing the tariff and how much time has been taken to create buffer stock. I believe starting from tomorrow, every liter bottle of soybean oil will be sold at Tk 163. And open soybean oil will be sold at Tk 149 per liter."
