Jewellers have raised the price of gold by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1, 11,041 per bhori (11.664 grams) due to a hike in the price of the precious metal on the international market.
The price of 22-carat gold is now Tk 9,520 per gram while it is Tk 9,090 for 21-carat gold, according to a press release issued by Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (BAJUS) on Saturday.
The price of 18-carat gold has been fixed at Tk 7,790 a gram, while that of traditional gold is at Tk 6,490 a gram.
The new tariff will come into effect from Sunday, the release said. The price of 22-carat silver is Tk180 per gram, Tk172 for 21-carat silver, Tk 147 for 18-carat silver, and Tk110 for traditional silver.
