Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Monday said the dream of ‘Digital Bangladesh’ has been fulfilled by the skilled leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The young generation will have to come forward to get the facilities of ‘Digital Bangladesh’ and a safe digital future will have to be built for all, she said.
Shirin Sharmin said came up with the observation while speaking at a meeting titled ‘Global Digital Compact and Summit of the Future 2024’ at the Cabinet Room of the parliament secretariat as the chief guest.
UNDP and Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum jointly arranged the discussion initiated by the Parliamentarians Caucus on Internet Governance, Digital Economy and Media Development.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Information and Broadcasting Ministry Hasanul Haque Inu presided over the discussion while Bangladesh Internet Governance Forum Secretary General Abdul Haque and Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication Chief Executive Officer AHM Bazlur Rahman presented the keynote paper.
UNDP Resident Representative in Bangladesh Stefan Liller and Senior Secretary of Parliament Secretariat KM Abdus Salam spoke as the special guests.
BTRC chairman Shyam Sunder Sikder, Nirapad Sarak Chai founder and chairman actor Ilias Kanchan, E-Cab Secretary General Abdul Wahed and film actor Ferdouse Ahmed also addressed the discussion.
