The Bangladesh Agricultural Investment Forum started its journey on Sunday (August 27) for the first time in the country as part of boosting agricultural changes.
Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzaque inaugurated the two-day function at InterContinental Dhaka arranged by the Ministry of Agriculture.
He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to bring the agriculture sector out from commercialization by multi-diversified modernization.
Razzaque said the government is taking and implementing various initiatives to inspire young entrepreneurs in agricultural business.
UN Food and Agriculture Organization Representative in Bangladesh Robert Simpson said the Bangladesh Agricultural Investment Forum will help to build an important liaison among those who want to make a profit by investing in the agriculture sector.
Agriculture Secretary Wahida Akter presided over the programme while Additional Secretary at Ministry of Agriculture Mohammad Ruhul Amin Talukder and representatives of various development organisations spoke at the event.
