Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh on Saturday said the city corporation has intensified its efforts to combat the dengue outbreak.
"We are incorporating community people to keep clean inside and outside houses and other infrastructures aiming to destroy breeding grounds of Aedes mosquito to rein in the ongoing dengue outbreak," he told journalists in the capital.
Taposh said dengue prevention campaign is being conducted in red-marked areas to prevent the spread of dengue disease in city corporation areas, reports BSS.
"If more than 10 patients' tests positive for dengue in a week in a specific ward, that ward has been declared 'red-marked' and a day-long special combing operation is being conducted in the areas," he said.
The DSCC mayor said, "We have engaged all levels of people including owners of houses, business, religious organizations establishment and other infrastructures to destroy breeding sources of Aedes mosquito."
