Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said the government has no plan to stop electricity during the daytime.
He said whatever Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury (Energy adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina) told about electricity are his own words. The government does not take such a decision. He (Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury) can tell you about it. The government has no plan to stop electricity during the daytime.
Hasan Mahmud made the remarks while briefing journalists at his ministry on Monday.
Earlier at a programme in the city on Sunday, Dr Tawfiq-e-Elahi said that the use of electricity during the day may be stopped in case of necessity.
He said, "Our reserve condition is not good and we do not know what will happen next. Use of electricity during the day may be stopped in case of necessity."
