Light to moderate rain accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur in many parts across the country, said the weather department on Wednesday.
According to the latest weather bulletin of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
The land depression over East Madhya Pradesh and adjoining areas now lies over Rajasthan and adjoining areas as a well-marked low.
The axis of the monsoon trough runs through the centre of the well-marked low, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
The day temperature may rise slightly and the night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 36.2 degrees Celsius in Syedpur and the minimum temperature was 25.6 degrees Celsius in Kutubdia of Chattogram.
The met office said the highest rainfall in the last 24 hours (Till 6 am Wednesday) was recorded at 24mm in Sylhet.
The sun sets at 6:30 pm today (Wednesday) and rises at 5:35 am tomorrow (Thursday) in Dhaka.
