At least six people were killed in a fire at the city’s Chowkbazar on Monday, a fire service official said.
The fire broke out at a polythene factory of Devidar Ghat of Kamalbagh in Chowkbazar around 12pm.
On information, ten firefighting units rushed to the spot. They later recovered six bodies from the fire-ravaged factory.
Khalida Yeasmin, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Directorate said, they brought the fire under control two and a half an hour later.
She, however, said the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
