The grand finale of VLSITHON 2.0, Bangladesh's largest VLSI competition, took place at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) on Thursday, where six teams were honored with a share of the Tk 3 lakh prize pool. The event, organized by Ulkasemi, the leading semiconductor company, in collaboration with AUST’s Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and the IEEE Student Branch, attracted 235 participants from 20 universities, competing in RTL (Register Transfer Level) design and Analog design categories, reads a press release.
In the RTL Design category, RUET Digital Dynamos won the championship, followed by ASCII from BUET as the first runner-up and RUET 3idIOTs as the second runner-up. In the Analog Design category, HeliKopter claimed the top prize, with Team Exponentials securing first runner-up and ASCII winning second runner-up.
Ulkasemi CEO Mohammad Enayetur Rahman praised the competition for showcasing young talent in technology and innovation, emphasizing the growing importance of the semiconductor industry. He projected that with the right support, Bangladesh’s semiconductor sector could become a multi-billion-dollar market by 2030.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashraful Haque, Vice Chancellor of AUST, lauded the event for encouraging technological advancement and fostering innovation among young engineers.
