Afghanistan set a target of 157 runs against Bangladesh in their World Cup opening game at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Saturday.
Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz shared six wickets between them to rattle the Afghanistan batters.
Afghanistan scored 156 runs in 37.2 overs losing all wickets.
Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and chose to field first.
