Bangladesh won by seven wickets in the first warm-up match of ICC Cricket World Cup-2023 against Sri Lanka at Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium in India on Friday.
Sri Lanka opted to bat on a good pitch in the afternoon and seemed set for a big score after a strong start. But from 104/1, regular wickets dented their progress.
Mahedi Hasan was at the forefront in that regard for Bangladesh, picking up a three-fer, while Miraz bowled a lovely spell of 1/32 as well in his 10 overs. Due to their efforts, Sri Lanka were restricted to just 263.
In response, Bangladesh were in control right through, starting with a 131-run opening stand between Litton Das and Tanzid Hasan which set them on their way.
Tanzid scored 84, Litton 61, and Miraz, who came in at three, scored an unbeaten 67, while Rahim also got a decent hit in the middle.
