Right-handed all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad has become the fourth Bangladeshi to achieve the milestone of scoring 5000 runs in ODIs, reports UNB.
In the third ODI against New Zealand in Dhaka on Tuesday, Mahmudullah only needed one run to reach the 5000-run mark. He effortlessly secured that single run, thereby becoming the fourth Bangladeshi player to accomplish this feat.
Despite initial uncertainties about his participation in the New Zealand series, the 37-year-old batter ultimately made it onto the field. In the second ODI, he narrowly missed out on a 50 by just one run.
Prior to Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, and Mushfiqur Rahim had all achieved the same milestone for Bangladesh.
