In the third Youth ODI of the U-19 series, Bangladesh emerged victorious by 4 wickets against Pakistan with 144 balls remaining on Thursday in Rajshahi, reports UNB.
Bangladesh won the toss and sent Pakistan to bat first, but their innings got off to a poor start as Azan Awais was dismissed for just 2 runs in the third over.
The wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, with only Saad Baig managing to put up a decent fight with his knock of 35 runs. Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 154 runs in 41.4 overs, with Borson and Iqbal Hossain Emmon taking 3 wickets each for Bangladesh.
In response, Bangladesh got off to a solid start with Adil Bin Siddik and Majaharul Islam putting up a 59-run partnership for the first wicket.
Although both were dismissed in quick succession, Jishan Alam and Mohammad Shihab James kept the momentum going with their quickfire knocks. With some help from the lower order, Bangladesh chased down the target of 155 runs in just 26 overs.
Aimal Khan took two wickets for Pakistan, while Amir Hassan, Ali Asfand, and Arafat Minhas each picked up a wicket, but their efforts were not enough to stop Bangladesh from winning the match.
Rohanat Doullah Borson of Bangladesh was named Player of the Match for his impressive bowling performance, taking 3 wickets for just 20 runs.
The next two matches of the series will be played on May 13 and 15 at the same venue.
