The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced a 15-member squad of Bangladesh A team for the first two unofficial Test matches against visiting West Indies A, where Afif Hossain was named as captain, reports BSS.
Test regulars like Zakir Hasan, Nayeem Hasan were also included in the team.
Bangladesh will play three unofficial Tests against the Caribbean which will reach here on May 11. All of the three four-day matches will be held at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium with the first one beginning from May 16. The second and third game will be held from May 23 and May 30 respectively.
Bangladesh visited West Indies August last year for a bilateral series. The two unofficial Tests ended in a draw and the three-match one-day series also was locked at 1-1 after a game was washed out.
But at home, Bangladesh will play only unofficial Test matches against West Indies.
Afif Hossain however had fared well in Dhaka Premier League (DPL) after being dropped from the national side. He so far scored 446 runs in 10 innings with one century and three half-centuries.
The squad also included Naim Sheikh, the highest run getter of DPL so far, Shadman Islam, Zakir Hasan, Saif Hasan, Mahmudul H asan-also of who are openers. According to team management, they will be rotated in different batting positions.
The pace bowling department included Rejaur Rahman Raja, Mushfik Hasan,Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Ripon Mondol while Rishad Hossain, Nayeem Hasan and Tanvir Islam will take care of spin department.
