Defending champions and runaway league leader Bashundhara Kings returned to winning streak as they crushed Fortis FC 4-1 in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football 2022-23 on Saturday afternoon, reports UNB.
In the match held at the Bashundhara Sports Complex in the capital, the Kings dominated the first half 2-0.
Brazilian playmaker Robson Robinho struck twice for the Kings in the 33rd and 45+2 minutes (2-0). Another Brazilian Dorielton Gomes netted two more goals in the 60th and 79th minutes (4-0).
Gambian forward Gaira Joof pulled one back for Fortis in the 93rd minute (4-1).
With an unbeaten record of 34 points from 12 matches, Bashundhara remained at the top of the table. Fortis stayed in the seventh slot with 12 points from as many matches.
Today's other match between Dhaka Mohammedan and Bangladesh Police ended in a 1-1 draw at the Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.
Colombian forward Arango put Police ahead in the 10th minute (1-0). Local midfielder Emon equalised for Mohammedan in the 56th minute (1-1).
