Eminent child writer and TV personality Ali Imam passed away at a city hospital on Monday evening.
He was 72.
He had written more than 600 books including scientific stories, and travel stories for children.
He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2001 in juvenile literature.
Ali Imam was born on December 31, 1950, in the Brahmanbaria district.
In his career, Ali Imam was the General Manager of Bangladesh Television (BTV) from 2004-2006 and the now-defunct Channel One (2007-2008) before serving as the CEO of several satellite TV channels at the end of his career.
