The Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust has invited applications for one-time medical grants for poor and meritorious students seriously injured in accidents.
Students studying from Class VI to undergraduate or equivalent levels can apply for the May-June 2026 phase starting on Monday, with the deadline set for June 30.
The information was disclosed in a notice issued by the stipend wing of the trust, reports BSS.
According to the notice, applicants must submit their applications online through the designated link of the e-Medical Grant Management System (https://www.eservice.pmeat.gov.bd/medical) by 11:59 pm on June 30.
To be eligible, injured students must have obtained at least 60 percent marks in their previous class, or a minimum GPA of 3.50 out of 5.00 in SSC and HSC examinations, and 3.00 out of 4.00 at the undergraduate level.
Children of employees in grades 13 to 20 working in government, semi-government and autonomous institutions are eligible. In other cases, applicants must come from families with an annual income of less than Tk 200,000.
Applicants are required to upload a medical certificate confirming "serious injury" issued by a civil surgeon or a physician of a government hospital. The application must be submitted within one year of the accident.
The grant money will be transferred directly to the bank account of the student or guardian.
Applicants have been advised to provide an active bank account and correct mobile number. No hard copies are required for this online process.
The notice also said that if any student cannot find their educational institution in the application system, the head of the institution must apply to the trust with necessary information for database inclusion.
The assistance will be provided in accordance with the guidelines for one-time financial grants for poor and meritorious students seriously injured in accidents, the notice added.
