BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie called for the immediate recovery of illegal weapons before the upcoming elections, warning that they are currently in the hands of criminals and terrorists.
He said, “The illegal weapons of the Awami League and all the weapons looted from the police station on August 5 are now in hands of the terrorists. Those Awami League friends or their associates are now committing misdeeds across the country with these weapons. This is causing deterioration in law and order, theft and robbery and increasing unrest in the society. These illegal weapons must be recovered before the elections, it is the responsibility of the interim government.”
Annie said these things while speaking at a program among the flood victims organized by the Lakshmipur district BNP on Wednesday.
He also said, “On one hand, elections, on the other hand, reforms and weapons must be recovered. Otherwise, terrorists will use weapons in the elections, this will not be allowed to happen on Bangladesh soil. We will be able to deal with the conspiracies of anyone, including fascists, very easily. Everyone must be more vigilant.”
