Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain said we did not create visa complications, and India has to decide on this issue.
Touhid Hossain said this at a press briefing held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital on Tuesday.
He said, “India has closed visas for whatever reason. It is their sovereign right to issue visas. If a country does not issue visas to anyone, or to any group, then no question can be raised. We hope that India will inform us of their decision.”
Touhid Hossain said the statement of the Chief Advisor on India is our position as we want a working relationship with India.
India has declared the visa application centers in Bangladesh closed indefinitely, citing the unstable situation since the fall of the autocratic Sheikh Hasina government in the mass uprising of students and the public on August 5. After being closed for a long time, visa applications in Bangladesh have started functioning on a limited scale. However, the country announced that it will not issue any visas other than medical visas and visas on some urgent needs.
