Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, “Elections must be held. But we don’t want a somewhat type election. We want a true election. We want a fair election, in which muscle power and black money will not be present in the field. It will not come easily, and we understand it. Be prepared for a big fight for this.”
He said this while talking as the chief guest at a huge public meeting organized by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Narsingdi district wing at Sathirpara Kali Kumar Institution School and College Ground on Friday afternoon.
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman also said, “This nation has been given a single push in July-August 24. Another push must be given to this nation. The voter list must be revised to establish rights. Fake voters must be excluded and dead ones must be identified and removed from the list. All those people who have become voters, but whose names are not included in the list, should be included in the list.”
He also said, “Our brothers abroad went to jail while carrying out the movement to overthrow the dictatorship. They fought with us together. They showed the red flag to the tyrannical government by stopping remittances. I salute them. We want to ensure the vote of every expatriate brother and sister in this election.”
