Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Thursday said foreign travellers will get on-arrival visas in Bangladesh within 10 minutes.
“Many countries of the world get on-arrival visas in our country which currently takes 45-60 minutes. In our new system, the service receiver will get the on-arrival visa within just 10 minutes,” he said.
Jahangir Alam made the remarks while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the Online App for Visa on Arrival (VoA) or Transit Visa application for foreign nationals at the Home Ministry conference room at the Secretariat.
The home adviser also said the government is mulling withdrawing the police verification system for faster passport delivery.
At the same program, he also launched the process of making complaints over the National Emergency Service 999 by passport applicants to simplify passport verification.
