There will be no election in the county without necessary reforms, said Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Prof Mia Golam Parwar, reports UNB.

“We’ve clearly told the Election Commission that no election will be held in the country without reforms,” Mia Parwar said while talking to reporters after holding a two-hour meeting with the EC led by Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin at the Nirbachan Bhaban on Thursday.

"Election won't be fair and acceptable without reforms," he said.

Earlier, a delegation of the Jamaat-e-Islam, led by its secretary general Prof Mia Golam Parwar, held the meeting with the EC, with four EC commissioners attending.

The Jamaat leader said every reform will be made to hold a free and fair election.

Jamaat delegation members included AHM Hamidur Rahman Azad, Advocate Jasim Uddin Sarkar, SM Kamal Uddin and Yousuf Ali.
