International Crimes Tribunal chief prosecutor Advocate Tajul Islam said, "Evidence of RAB firing from helicopters during the July-August uprising has been found. Former RAB director general Harun Or Rashid carried out the indiscriminate shooting from helicopters to suppress the movement, a plan for genocide."
The Chief Prosecutor said these things after the hearing at the International Crimes Tribunal on Sunday afternoon. During the hearing, the tribunal wanted to know where Harun was. The Chief Prosecutor said that the investigation agency is trying to arrest him.
Advocate Tajul Islam also said, “The special tribunal has so far issued arrest warrants against 96 people in crimes against humanity cases. Of these, less than 50 percent of the accused have been arrested. Even if there was weakness in the beginning, now the law enforcement agencies are active in making arrests.”
Earlier, an arrest warrant was issued against former RAB director general Harun Or Rashid on Sunday. The International Crimes Tribunal has issued an arrest warrant against him in the July-August genocide case.
