Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that while there are sufficient police officers, the deterioration in law and order is attributed to the slow pace of the force's work.
He made this statement during the inauguration of the Keraniganj Central Jail tour and emergency services on Sunday morning.
The Home Advisor mentioned that 700 prisoners who escaped from the jail after August 5 are still on the run. He assured that top terrorists who are currently engaged in criminal activities outside will be brought to justice soon.
He added, “The jail's emergency hotline service will provide information about prisoners' locations, parole releases, physical conditions, appearances, interview, and conversation dates. Relatives of prisoners can call this hotline number to obtain all such information.”
Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury further informed that employment opportunities will be arranged for those who were injured in July and August through this emergency service.
