Advisor to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief of the interim government, Faruk-e Azam (Bir Uttam), said legal action will be taken against those who embezzled government allotments including TR-Kabikha as in the past, we have seen that government allocations were not given to the people. The then public representatives used to grasp this public money.
He said this in his speech as the chief guest at a divisional view exchange meeting at the Circuit House in Barishal city on Saturday afternoon. Deputy commissioners of six districts of Barisal division and officials of the Food Department participated in this view exchange meeting.
Advisor Faruk-e Azam also said that apart from TR-Kabikha, the poor did not receive relief in floods or any natural disaster. The public representatives became rich by embezzling these reliefs.
Therefore, he instructed all the deputy commissioners to use government resources and TR Kabikha properly.
Barishal divisional commissioner Kawsar Raihan and deputy commissioner Delwar Hossain along with other deputy commissioners were present at the view exchange meeting.
