Controversial Hindu leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari on Sunday applied for bail with the High Court, and to this end, a hearing has been scheduled on Monday.
Justice Md Atoar Rahman and Justice Md Ali Reza would hold the hearing in the sedition case.
The trial court, Chattogram Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court denied Chinmoy bail on 2 January over allegations he and his 18 supporters dishonoured the national flag by hoisting the saffron flag above it .
On 25 November, Chinmoy was arrested from the Dhaka airport area. The following day, the court denied his bail petition and sent him to jail, sparking a violent rampage by thousands of his supporters on the court premises.
Advocate Saiful Islam was killed in the violence, while public properties were ransacked.
