An all-party meeting on the July Uprising declaration will be held next Thursday, said Mahfuz Alam, advisor to the interim government.
He shared this information at a press conference organized by the Chief Advisor's Press Wing at the Foreign Service Academy on Tuesday.
Mahfuz Alam said, “The venue for the discussion has not yet been determined. There have been indefinite discussions with political parties on the draft declaration. These discussions have been held with various political parties and classes, including BNP, Jamaat and Ganatantra Mancha.
On the evening of January 10, at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital, Advisor Mahfuz Alam had said that the government will not issue the declaration. The government is supporting the declaration process. The declaration will come based on everyone's consensus.
Earlier, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Jatiya Nagorik Committee wanted to publish the declaration of the July Uprising at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka on December 31. Various discussions were held in the country's political arena regarding it. The question arose as to why the issue of the declaration was suddenly brought to the fore and what its impact might be. The interim government's press wing then said that the government was not involved in this initiative.
