The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has decided to investigate allegations of disproportionate wealth against renowned journalist Munni Saha and her husband and advertising agency MS Promotions owner Kabir Hossain Taposh.
ACC director general (DG) Akhter Hossain confirmed the matter to the media on Thursday.
Akhter Hossain said that the commission has decided to investigate allegations of disproportionate assets against journalist Munni Saha and her husband and advertising agency MS Promotions owner Kabir Hossain Taposh, who are the subjects of the allegations, for transactions worth Tk 134 crore in their bank accounts, current balance of Tk 14 crore, and disproportionate assets. The commission has decided to investigate allegations of wasting and embezzling government funds on unnecessary sculptures and murals of Bangabandhu across the country at a cost of Tk of several thousand crore.
He also mentioned that the commission has decided to investigate allegations of embezzlement of Tk of thousands of crores, overbilling, failure of two-thirds of deep tube wells and various irregularities against the project director of the Mujib Killa construction, renovation and development projects across the country, the concerned contractors and others.
