All types of temporary access passes (for private individuals) to the secretariat have been cancelled, except for the permanent access pass (Digital Access Control System) issued to officials and employees working at the secretariat, as well as the temporary access passes issued to government officials and employees.
Access to the secretariat through accreditation cards issued to journalists has been cancelled until further notice, according to an official handout, reports BSS.
This information was provided on Friday night through a press release signed by Khuda Baksh Chowdhury, special assistant to the chief adviser for home affairs.
Holders of cancelled secretariat access passes of various categories can apply for a new temporary access pass within the next 15 days through a special cell established at the Bangladesh Police, Crime Command and Control Center, DMP, 15 Abdul Gani Road, Dhaka.
This order has been issued in light of the disruption of security at the secretariat following the recent fire incident.
