A Dhaka court has ordered cricketer Shakib Al Hasan to appear on January 18 in connection with a cheque fraud case involving IFIC Bank.
Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbubul Haque issued the order on Wednesday,reports bdnews24.com.
Shakib Al Hasan was named in a cheque fraud case on December 15, as reported by court clerk Khandaker Shahriar Alam. The court issued a summons for him after the Wednesday hearing.
Shahibur Rahman filed the case with the court on Dec 15.
The case also implicated Shakib's company, Al Hasan Agro Farm, and its Managing Director Gazi Shahagir Hossein, as well as directors Emdadul Haque and Malaikar Begum.
The court’s Bench Assistant Khandaker Shahriar Alam stated, “The court held a hearing on the matter and then issued the summons.”
