A total of 25 assistant superintendents of police (ASPs) of the 40th BCS batch were served show-cause notices reportedly for disrupting training at the Police Academy in Rajshahi’s Sardah.
In an order signed by Superintendent of Police (Administration) Tanvir Salehin Emon on behalf of the academy's principal on Sunday, the ASPs were asked to explain why they should not be sent to the higher authorities for disciplinary action.
The show-cause notice reads, "On November 26, according to the weekly training schedule, during the afternoon session after the parade was ordered by senior authorities, when the CASI instructed the group to run along with several others, instead of running, you began walking aimlessly. This disrupted other trainees on the field who were trying to run correctly. Despite repeated instructions to run, you ignored the directions and started making insulting remarks. Your actions, along with those of your associates, created disrupted the environment on the field. As a trainee ASP (Probationer), your behaviour and actions severely disrupted the overall training activities and encouraged other trainees to disregard discipline.”
"Because of your actions and behaviour, you are asked to explain why no report will be submitted to senior authorities regarding your conduct. You are instructed to submit your written explanation within three days of receiving this notice," added the letter.
Earlier, the Police Academy authorities cancelled the appointments of 62 trainee ASPs and 252 trainee sub-inspectors for breaching discipline.
