BNP standing committee member Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury has said that there is no scope to deviate from democracy. He also believes that politicians are accountable to the people.
“Politicians are accountable to the people. In this regard, they must steer the wheels of politics in the right direction,” said Amir Khoshru
He made these comments as the chief guest at a pre-rally gathering organized by Chattogram Metropolitan BNP at Sholoshahar Biplob Udyan on Monday afternoon, in celebration of Victory Day.
Amir Khosru stated, "If we talk about reforms for the future, we have proposed a 31-point reform plan. We have pledged to implement these reforms in full consensus with around 50 parties. We are ready to cooperate in determining what reforms will take place. Since politicians have not succeeded in the past, they must remain accountable to the people."
He further added, "From Biplob Udyan, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman started the revolution against Pakistan. Ziaur Rahman was the main freedom fighter and the first freedom fighter.”
He also stated that Ziaur Rahman first declared the independence of Bangladesh from Chattogram. The inspiration for the liberation war, the motivation for independence, began from this region.
