The Victory Day 2024 was observed at the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo with much enthusiasm and fervor on Monday.
The program started in the morning with hoisting of the National Flag with rendition of the National Anthem on the embassy premises by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Japan Md. Daud Ali.
Later a one-minute silence of respect was observed in the memory of the martyrs of the war of independence of Bangladesh in 1971 and July-August Mass Uprising in 2024.
Later messages given on the Victory Day by the President, Chief Adviser and Foreign Adviser were read out to the audiences.
During the discussion, Ambassador Md. Daud Ali recalled with profound respect all the martyrs of the War of Liberation and all the valiant mothers and sisters who lost their dignity during the liberation war.
The Ambassador also expressed deep gratitude for the contributions of all the friendly countries and foreign friends, including Japan, who supported our liberation war, directly or indirectly. He extended his greetings to everyone, including the expatriates in Japan, on Victory Day.
The Ambassador urged everyone to work from their respective positions to establish a discrimination-free society.
After the discussion, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo and Japan Red Cross Society jointly organized a day-long blood donation program at the Embassy premises.
Expatriate Bangladeshis in Japan and, officials and employees of the Embassy participated spontaneously in the blood donation program.
