President Mohammed Shahabuddin and the chief advisor (CA) to the interim government Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus paid tribute to the martyred intellectuals, the best sons of the nation.
On Saturday,the President laid a wreath at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial in Mirpur in the capital at 7 am, and later the Chief Advisor paid tribute at 7:15 pm.
After paying their respects, they stood in silence for a while, during which members of the armed forces gave the national salute.
After paying homage, the President and the Chief Advisor exchanged greetings with the war-wounded freedom fighters and children of martyred intellectuals present at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial Courtyard.
The children of freedom fighters wounded in the war and martyred intellectuals also paid their respects at the Martyred Intellectuals Memorial.
