Chief Advisor to the interim government Prof Dr. Muhamamd Yunus talked to the revolutionary women who were actively involved in mass uprising in July-August.
The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs held a meeting of these brave women of the time with the Chief Advisor at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday. The program was named 'Daughters of July...We will not let you disappear'.
There, Chief advisor urges women to come forward to build new Bangladesh
Dr. Muhammad Yunus encouraged female students to build a beautiful future for themselves and the country and listened to their hopes and aspirations and various demands.
The Chief Advisor said, “Today is a day of great excitement, a day of anger, a day of emotion. Today is a day to express everything together. We are here because of excitement. If there was no excitement and discontent, we would not be able to survive as human beings. These are there and will remain. We will express them whenever and wherever necessary. May we have that kind of strength!”
He also said school-college-university girls and worker women, even girls living at home have joined this movement from wherever they can and have come forward equally. It has completely changed Bangladesh. As a result, the Bangladesh of before August 5 no longer exists. This is a new Bangladesh. We will build this new Bangladesh. We will keep the promise you have made to change the country.
The press wing of the chief advisor said that students from various educational institutions including colleges and universities who took part in the anti-discrimination movement in July-August participated in the program. In addition, working women from various government and private organizations also participated in the program. The students exchanged views with the chief advisor and expressed their hopes, aspirations and demands.
