Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has directed that no one should be arrested while cop wearing white clothes. He issued the instruction during a meeting with government officials, including police and fire service representatives, at the Shilpakala Academy auditorium in Khulna on Monday.
The Home Affairs Advisor highlighted the rising incidents of mob violence and murder in various areas, urging that criminals should be handed over to the police rather than taking the law into their own hands. He also warned against taking action against fake litigants.
Chowdhury emphasized that law enforcement must remain impartial and not offer any extra benefits to political parties. He stressed the need for law enforcement agencies to curb illegal activities, such as the oil trade, in order to promote good governance.
Additionally, he noted that many weapons looted from police stations have yet to be recovered. He expressed hope that retrieving these missing weapons would help restore normalcy.
