Energy Adviser Dr Fouzul Kabir Khan said the government is determined to set value for money for the people of the country.
He said while addressing a seminar titled ‘Predictable Energy Pricing and Supply Stability’ organized by Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) in the capital on Saturday.
The energy adviser said Bhola LNG station has been opened to meet the industrial demand as a temporary solution. A company had occupied this LNG station.
He said there will be no procurement in the fuel and power sector without open competition. For this reason, the black law of 2010 has been abolished.
Fouzul Kabir Khan said if the entrepreneurs are good, there is no need to change money from hands to hands. They can do good business in the fuel and power sector.
Mentioning that the government would no longer allow Independent Power Producer (IPP), he said, “The government is going to set up merchant power plant. Entrepreneurs can directly sell electricity to the consumers.”
The adviser also said the government will search 50 gas wells by December this year and 100 gas wells in the next year.
