Amid the deteriorating bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India, India Today TV has published a report claiming that Bangladesh has deployed the Bayraktar TB2 drones near the West Bengal border of India.
“Bangladesh did not deploy drones. India Today’s news is untrue and fabricated,” said a post on the verified Facebook page of the chief adviser on Saturday.
India Today reported on Friday that India has intensified surveillance along the Bangladesh border amid reports that Bangladesh has deployed Turkey-made drones near West Bengal.
The development comes against the backdrop of intelligence inputs indicating an increase in terrorist activity along the border areas after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's Awami League government, it said.
Rejecting the reports, the chief adviser press wing in its statement, said, “Bangladesh did not deploy drones in any part of the country except for its routine work. The news is part of an orchestrated campaign against Bangladesh.”
