The Advisory Council has approved the proposal to publish gazette honoring poet Kazi Nazrul Islam as 'National Poet'.
The Advisory Council meeting on Thursday approved this proposal to publish gazette honoring poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
The meeting of the Advisory Council was held at the office of the Chief Advisor under the chairmanship of Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor to the Interim Government.
A press release from the Cabinet Division confirmed the matter.
The initiative was taken by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
Until now, the poet of love and rebel, Kazi Nazrul Islam, has been called the national poet by word of mouth. However, there was no evidence for this. Although Kazi Nazrul Islam was given the status of the country's national poet since 1987, there was no state recognition in this regard. Only the name of Kazi Nazrul Islam is mentioned as the national poet in the Kobi Kazi Nazrul Institute Act.
After receiving this recognition, the name of Kazi Nazrul Islam will be included in the constitution as the national poet of Bangladesh.
