Mufti Faizul Karim, Senior Nayeb-e-Amir of Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) and widely known as Shaykh-e-Charmonai, has voiced concerns over alleged attempts to destabilize Bangladesh's crucial garment sector. Speaking as the chief guest at the Garment Workers Conference 2024 on Thursday at the National Press Club auditorium, Mufti Faizul Karim accused "enemies of the country" of conspiring to undermine the nation’s key remittance-earning industry.
"Those who are enemies of the country and humanity are now attempting to disrupt our garment sector through conspiracies," he stated, highlighting the sector's significance to Bangladesh’s economy and livelihood.
The conference, organized by the Garment Workers Movement Bangladesh, focused on the issues faced by workers in the garment industry, which is considered the backbone of the country's economy. Mufti Faizul Karim stressed the importance of remaining vigilant against any efforts to destabilize the sector.
The event was presided over by Muhammad Harun-ur-Rashid, President of the Garment Workers Movement Bangladesh.
