The “White Paper on the State of Bangladesh Economy” will be published on Monday.
On the publishing day, the chairman of the committee responsible for preparing the white paper, Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya, will present the results of the report to media.
The press conference is scheduled to be held at 11 am at the NEC Conference Room of the Bangladesh Planning Commission in Agargaon in the capital.
Earlier, the interim government formed a 12-member committee led by economist and special fellow of the Center for Policy Dialogue (CPD) Debapriya Bhattacharya to measure the damage and situation of the economy after the political change and publish the White Paper.
The Economic White Paper Preparation Committee has prepared the report after three months of discussions, reviews, data collection and verification with the government secretary, businessmen, citizens and other relevant individuals, institutions and organizations.
The committee’s 400-page report reveals the picture of looting in various sectors during the fallen Awami League led government’s tenure.
The white paper will contain recommendations to determine the conditions of the country’s macroeconomic and sector-wise economies and recommendations for the future.
However, the committee on Sunday placed the white paper to the Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.
