Law adviser Dr Asif Nazrul has criticized India as it expressed “deep concern” over the situation in Bangladesh.
He said: “India is expressing undue concern over Bangladesh’s situation”, the adviser said, adding that Indian Muslims are facing numerous atrocities but the country has no hesitation or remorse about that.
He made the statement in a post on social media platform Facebook on Friday. He also sees India’s such duplicity as condemnable and objectionable behavior.
Citing a survey report finding by Voice of America (VOA) Bangla, Dr Nazrul said that most of Bangladeshi people (64.1%) believes that the interim government is able to provide more security to the minority community than previous AL led government.
We have also witnessed that how the people of Bangladesh, including student organizations, Madrasas and political parties, worked for the security of minorities during the recent Durga Puja, he furthered, adding: “Most recently, even after the brutal and provocative killing of lawyer Saiful Islam Alif in Chattogram, Muslims in Bangladesh have shown infinite restraint and patience.”
