Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus did not say that the tenure of the interim government will be four years, said his press secretary Shafiqul Alam.
He said that many people are making headlines without listening to the real fact. The whole matter was cleared up and it wasn’t mentioned about four years. The four year reference is coming as some have demanded that the term of Parliament should be four years. In that sense, it was told about the term of any government. This was not said in the case of the interim government.
He said this in response to a question at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Monday.
The press secretary also said, “The whole matter must be cleared. You (media workers) listen carefully to the entire interview. What did he (Chief Advisor) say in the interview? There has been a lot of discussion about the constitution. In some cases it is said that the duration of Parliament should be brought to four years. In this context, he said the ‘word,’ however he did not say it in the context of the tenure of the interim government.”
