The leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Jatiya Nagorik Committee on Saturday held a meeting with BNP with a view to reach a political consensus in favour of their demand for immediate removal of President Mohammed Shahabuddin.
A seven-member delegation of student leaders held a meeting at BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka, around 5:15 pm to reach a consensus on the issue.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Salauddin Ahmed, and Joint Secretary General Shaheed Uddin Chowdhury Annie shared their party’s stance in this regard during the meeting.
Earlier, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and the National Citizen Committee demanded the removal of the president for the sake of carrying out smooth reforms to various state organs.
