Chief Adviser's deputy press secretary Apurba Jahangir said that he temporarily agreed with legal adviser Asif Nazrul's opinion over President Md. Shahabuddin.
He said it in a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy on Hare Road on Tuesday.
In response to the question regarding the opinion made by legal adviser questioning the statement of President, Apurba Jahangir said, "The government agrees with what the legal adviser Asif Nazrul has said.”
Incidentally, the President said that there is no documentary evidence of Sheikh Hasina's resignation. A statement quoting Shahabuddin was published in the media. Legal advisor Asif Nazrul has accused him of 'perjury and breach of oath' for that comment.
After that, from various circles including the anti-discrimination student movement resignation of President Md. Shahabuddin has been demanded. On Tuesday afternoon, an organization called 'Swadynta Sarbhabhaumtva Rakkha Committee' surrounded the Bangabhaban with this demand. They took up position at the intersection in front of Bangabhaban. The President has been given an ultimatum to resign within the next 24 hours from the stay program.
