The Anti-discrimination Students Movement on Tuesday evening has announced five-point demands, including the removal of President Md. Shahabuddin, the banning of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) as a terrorist organization within 48 hours and the annulment of the constitution.
In protest of President Md. Shahabuddin's speech regarding Sheikh Hasina's resignation letter, coordinator Hasnat Abdullah presented five-point demands from the public gathering program organized under the banner of anti-discrimination student movement at the central Shaheed Minar of the capital.
The demands are: to immediately cancel the existing constitution and write a new constitution in the context of the mass uprising of 24; banning BCL as a terrorist organization for life from Bangladesh within this week; to take step to resign President Md. Shahabuddin by this week; announcing the 'Proclamation of the Republic' in the light of the July Revolution within this week and declaring the 10th, 11th and 12th parliamentary elections of 2014, 2018 and 2024 respectively illegal. Those who were elected in these three elections, their assets should be confiscated and legal action should be taken so that they can never vote in Bangladesh.
Coordinator Sarjis Alam said, "If needed again, we are ready to sacrifice our eyes, ready to sacrifice our feet, ready to sacrifice our hands, even ready to sacrifice our lives. The rise of the fascist party Chhatra League will not be tolerated as it has killed our brothers.”
Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah said, "If our 5-point demands are not met within this week, we will take to the streets again."
