Home Adviser Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, "Following the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5, when the police and other law enforcement agencies faced challenging situations, the Ansar forces effectively fulfilled their assigned duties. During that time, they played a crucial role and made sure that the embassies, airports, and various financial institutions were safe. They certainly deserve praise for their efforts."
He made these remarks on Monday morning while addressing a gathering organized for the officers of the 19th Ansar Battalion located in Nowhata, Paba Upazila of Rajshahi
The Home Affairs Adviser further stated, "Various problems faced by the affiliated Ansar members have been resolved. Both the battalion and affiliated Ansar are performing their duties correctly." He also gave instructions to them to carry out their future responsibilities even more effectively.
Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury further commented, "Although the law and order situation is not entirely satisfactory, it is improving. There is room for further improvement, where the Ansar forces also have an important role to play."
Regarding the rising prices of goods, he said, "One of the main reasons is the floods in the southeastern regions of the country, including Comilla, Feni, and Noakhali, as well as the ongoing flood situation in Mymensingh and Sherpur."
He explained, "Comilla is one of the major vegetable-producing districts in the country. Due to the floods, production has been affected, leading to an increase in vegetable prices."
Earlier, the Home Affairs Adviser visited Nawhata and Kharkhari markets in Rajshahi city. There, he inquired about the prices of various goods. He advised the present traders to remain vigilant to prevent syndicates and extortion in the markets. He also suggested that if anyone engages in extortion, they should immediately inform the law enforcement agencies.
Additionally, he visited the regional fertilizer storage facility of the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) located at Amchattar in Rajshahi.
