Bashundhara Group, country's leading producer of consumer goods, has started sales activities at consumer level at affordable prices throughout the month of June marking the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha.
The company will sell oil, flour, powdered spices, tea and other products through trucks in eight divisional cities and two places in the capital every day.
The sale will take place every morning in front of the National Secretariat and in Karwan Bazar area, as well as other locations such as Oxygen Mor in Chattogram, Port Area in Sylhet, Satmatha in Bogura, Gallamari Mor in Khulna, Hatim Ali College at Choumatha in Barisal, Mymensingh Town Hall Mor, Comilla Chattipatti Mosque and Chawkbazar in Faridpur.
The programme was inaugurated at TCB Bhaban and Secretariat Bhaban in the capital on Thursday, reports Daily Sun.
Mirazul Islam Ukil, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, and Shamima Akhtar, Joint Controller of the Ministry of Commerce, inaugurated the programme at Secretariat Bhaban while Director General (Additional Secretary) of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate, AHM Shafiquzzaman inaugurated at the TCB building.
Director of National Consumer Protection Manjur Mohammad Shahriar, Deputy Director of National Consumer Protection Atiya Sultana and senior officials of Bashundhara Food & Beverage were also present during the occasions.
Officials concerned said the government is working to keep the prices of daily commodities under control during the holy Eid-ul-Azha in June. Common people will benefit if other big industrial groups like Bashundhara come forward, the press release added.
Head of Sales of Bashundhara Food Division, Redwanur Rahman said, Bashundhara Group has always been working not only for business purposes, but also for the welfare of the country and people. Following this, Bashundhara Group has come forward to serve consumers by selling products at mill-gate prices.
