A plan to establish an institute to impart knowledge of modern design to goldsmiths with demos of advanced technology by Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS).
BAJUS vice president Dr Dewan Aminul Islam said, “Central executive committee has chalked out various plans for flourishing gold industry. These include establishment of a design institute for goldsmiths and other stakeholders.”
He was addressing as the chief guest at a view exchange meeting with Gaibandha unit on Friday.
Dr Dewan also suggested for developing an information repository of BAJUS members and goldsmiths in collaboration with government to support the growth of the industry.
“We also need research to outline the gold industry of the future. It will help the industry people assess the market demand at home and abroad,” he added.
Dewan Aminul further shared the dreams of BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir including one to establish a gold bank.
BAJUS Gaibandha unit president Manindra Nath Mitra presided over the meeting.
Ruhul Amin Rasel, advisor of BAJUS, Reponul Hasan, executive member, and Enamul Haque Sohel, member of District Monitoring Committee, Azharul Islam Sanju, general secretary of district unit, Abul Khair Morsalin Parvez, former president of Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce, among others, were present.
